Intake and email address

What it is

The address senders email submissions to. Nora’s follow-up emails and the senders’ replies go through it. Each product has its own Nora address per environment, and Nora picks the product from the address a submission arrives at.

What you decide

  • Option 1, Nora address: senders email the address we create per product (e.g. yourcompany+product@formflow-email.net). Ready straight away, no IT work.

  • Option 2, your own mailbox: senders email an address on your domain, which redirects everything to the Nora address. Nora’s emails are also sent from it, and replies go back to it (see Branding and email masking). Use one mailbox per environment and product, e.g. nora-demo-productA@yourcompany.com and nora-productA@yourcompany.com, so test and live submissions stay separate.

  • Optional, copies of Nora’s emails: every email Nora sends can be BCC’d to your mailbox, so you see the full conversation.

What to send us

  • Chosen option.

  • For option 2: a mailbox address per environment and product, and an IT contact for the DNS records.

  • Whether you want BCC copies.

When

  • Decision: 🔴 ASAP

  • Option 2 mailbox tested in Demo and working: 🟢 GO-LIVE

Good to know

  • How option 2 works: senders email your mailbox → it redirects to the Nora address → Nora replies from your mailbox → the sender’s reply lands in your mailbox and is redirected to Nora again. To senders, every email comes from you.

  • DNS setup for option 2: sending from your domain needs three DNS records. We send them, your IT adds them (usually a 5-minute change), they take effect within a few hours, and we confirm once verified. We then test the full flow in Demo and Prod.

  • The redirect must keep the original sender: the email reaching Nora must still read “From: john@broker.com”, not your mailbox. Otherwise broker mapping won’t work.

  • You can start on option 1 and move to option 2 later if you wish.

  • A submission sent to another product’s address is read against that product. Make sure every submission reaches its own product’s address.

  • With BCC copies, your redirect rule must skip the emails Nora sends. Otherwise each copy is processed again as a new submission.
